For the Red, White, and Blue

TGIF!  And it's a holiday weekend too.  Does everyone have big plans for the Memorial Day weekend?  I'm going to take a few days off and play with the grandkids.  And I know we are going to have some fun.

With this being Memorial Day I decided to do a card in red, white, and blue.  I love this paper.  It is Of Liberty Collection by Bo Bunny.  This cutie image is a stamp by MFT Pure Innocence.  This is Being Cute is What I Do. Cute-A-Tude

I just love the MFT dies and stamps. This little cutie is Cute-a-tude.  I paper pieced her dress with a part of the DP.  I also used the paper to make the flower.  The flower is a die from MFT.  I used the sketch from the challenge over at Totally Papercrafts.  Here it is:

I like to play the sketch challenges as I sometimes have a hard time deciding what I want to do with a card and this way they give you a layout, but I can make changes to it to suit me as I have here.  The basic sketch is still there with just a few changes or additions.  The designer paper is from my stash.  It has got to be about two years old.  The blue I think is SU and the yellow I don't know.  The buttons are SU and I think they are probably about a year old.  I tried to use up some of my stash.  And with paper that is a lot.  I tend to buy it when I have plenty at home.  The oval dies are Spellbinder and the flower is MFT die-namics.

Love is Like a Butterfly.....

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I know I did.  Today I have a card that is made mostly with die cuts and punches.  The cardstock is SU and the designer paper is Jillibean and SU.  The flower is made with SU punches Fancy Flower and 5-Petal Flower.  The button brad is from The Paper Studio. The leaves are made with a Sizzix die cut Flourish, Flora w/Leaves.  The paper for the leaves is from my scrap box.  The corners are Decorative Corner #3 die cut by Sizzix.  The Sentiment is from SU Butterfly Prints set and it is stamped in SU Real Red.  It is stamped on a die cut called Label, Ornate #3 by Sizzix.  I used Martha Stewart's Deep Edge Blossom Trim punch to punch the center strip.  The butterfly is a die cut from Tim Holtz Alterations.  I cut out the butterfly then I used the Real Red ink and stamped on part of it with a stamp from SU's Butterfly Prints.  I then used a lot of gemstones from my stash to give it some sparkle.  Oh and last but not least the background paper is embossed with an embossing folder by Sizzix for SU called Square Lattice.
